What do my cells look like? I am a Zillenial product of worn Beanie Babies, transparent pencil pouches, sparkly headbands, and hard plastic Happy Meal toys. As an adult, I reckon with how much of my childhood I still carry, especially as a neurodivergent and genderqueer person. I find myself back in my plastic childhood, yearning for the creative messiness of my old bedroom closet. When I create with childlike materials, I realize their precious significance and influence on my current senses. The Cytoplastic Series breaks open a bodily memory of childhood and imagines its cellular impact.
